WELCOME to this website on which I will post reports and photo's of my bicycle-, skitour-, and mountaineering- trips for family, friends and others interested.

The website was originally set up for the daily reports of my bicycle ride through Africa from Cairo to Capetown as part of the 2007 Tour d'Afrique. These reports, photo's and other information are still available under Tour d'Afrique.

The website is being expanded to include other trips I have made as the 2003 Polio Ride bicycle expedition from Vladivostok on the east coast of Russia to Scheveningen in the Netherlands, 12,000 km through Siberia and Russia to finally arrive via Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany in the Netherlands, my home country.

Under Alpine Expeditions you will find a report and photo's of my in October 2011 completed Nepal Mera Peak (6475 m) trek.

In Ski Touring you will find a selection of the many ski tours I have made in the European Alps in the past 20 years.

Sailing has a story and photo's celebrating the 100th anniversary of our traditional sailing barge "Weer & Wind" in 2007. Also included is a copy of the logbook of the "MAAK VAST", a  traditional river Salmon fishing vessel (zalmschouw).
