Saturday January 13, 2007, we left Cairo. Exactly 4 months later we plan to arrive in Capetown. 96 Cycling days of 125 km average and 24 rest days are planned.
The Route brings us through 10 countries, over tarred roads as well as dirt roads, through desert, savannahs and forests, across endless plains and over mountains up to 3000 m, through squalid villages but also modern cities. This with temperatures with extremes of 0 to over 50 degrees Celcius, through dryness, sun and rain.
